The experience of the company

It is very important to hire a company/individual that is thoroughly experienced and competent in this field. An experienced cleaner will know how to clean rooms, tiles, bathrooms, carpet, furniture, household items and knows what type of products work best with each one. An inexperienced company/individual might end up damaging your expensive furniture instead of cleaning it. It is important to find out how experienced the company/individual is as a result.

Referrals

You can look into referrals from family or friends. Ask around when speaking to friends if they know of any great local cleaners. The opinion and satisfaction of previous customers will help you judge whether they are up to the task or not.

Find out their pricing structure

Different companies/individuals have different methods of charging money for the cleaning. Some companies charge money based on the amount of time spent cleaning and others charge for the specific items/area cleaned. Work out which would be more beneficial to your budget when looking for a cleaner.

What do their services include?

Do they do the laundry, sort out old junk in boxes, pick up cat litter, polish the plant leaves, sweep outside? Find out prior which services are provided so that you do not have any miscommunication if work isn’t carried out the way you planned. It is important to find out exactly how much work is included within the services they are charging you for and what type of service they provide. You should find out beforehand whether the cleaners will be moving your furniture themselves or whether they will be charging extra money for that service etc. In the case of the latter, you might want to make your own arrangements to get the furniture moved in advance instead of paying an extra fee.

Sometimes it might be preferable to hire a cleaner through a reputable agency or company, this way you can have comfort knowing that they are who they say they are and your belongings are safe.

Cleaning products and equipment.

It is a good idea to enquire if cleaners bring their own equipment and products and if so, are the products suited to your household? If you have allergies you might not want industrial strength chemicals near you same as you do not want toxic chemicals used in areas babies or children play. Make sure the products brought are safe.
